Areas of Practice
Cheryl has broad experience in litigation and arbitration work in respect of civil and commercial disputes. She has acted in partnership disputes, contract and negligence claims, tenancy actions, family law matters, defamation claims, winding-up, corporate schemes of arrangement, minority oppression suits, and other contentious corporate matters. She has also acted to overturn expert reports.

Cheryl has acted in construction matters and represented developers, main contractors and subcontractors, management councils and subsidiary proprietors in claims for payment, defects (to common property and internal units) and variations, liquidated and unliquidated damages for delay, claims under Architects' Certificates, calls on performance bonds, claims involving the Public Sector Conditions of Contract, and various SIA forms of contract. She has acted in claims involving Singapore Water Treatment/ Reclamation Plants, HDB and LTA projects, the Biopolis project, Marina Bay and various condominiums and buildings.

Cheryl has acted in various claims against banks and private bankers including misrepresentation and claims under the Financial Advisers Act,and MAS guidelines and regulations.

Cherylís litigation experience includes obtaining Mareva, interlocutory and mandatory in junctions, trademark opposition, property disputes, encroachment of land, and Strata Title Board disputes.

About Cheryl
Cheryl began her legal practice in 1996 in C Arul & Partners, where she practised shipping and arbitration law. In 2000, she joined Chor Pee & Partners where she gained broader experience in civil and commercial litigation. From March 2001 to October 2003, she was in the construction department of Drew & Napier LLC where she gained valuable experience in arbitration, injunction applications, schemes of arrangement, partnerships and club constitutions. She was with Pacific Law Corporation and CitiLegal from 2003 until becoming a partner with Union Law LLP in Jan 2014.She is known for paying attention to detail and being tenacious in her work.Cheryl volunteers with Action For Aids.
